Welcome

This ministry is about knowing what's in the word of God. It is to help you get in the habit of studying, word by word, for yourself so as to get in a better, closer relationship with Christ our Lord and Saviour.

The Alabaster Jar

Matt.26:6-13; Mark 14:3-11; Luke 7:36-50; John 12:1-11

Simon the leper, a pharisee, held a feast to show Jesus his appreciation for healing him of his disease at his house. Lazarus, whom Christ raised from the dead, along with his sisters Mary and Martha (John 11:32 – Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 38- .... “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man....”), was also at the feast with the other disciples.

Mary, who had lived a very sinful life, was forgiven by Christ in His mercy, who had called forth her brother from the grave, and was filled with gratitude in her heart. With deep love and sorrow, she longed to show Him honor. At a great sacrifice, she had purchased an alabaster jar of ointment, which she brought to the feast and selflessly, not worried about the cost, anointed Jesus’s head with it and, weeping, wet his feet with her tears, wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and poured the perfume on them.

The perfume’s fragrance permeated the room, which arrested the disciples’ attention. After the disciples tried to rebuke her, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” Christ, the Alabaster jar, the greatest gift from heaven to a lost world, was broken, and the fragrance of  His love began to spread throughout the world to save humanity.

Through this ministry, we take the Bible as the Alabaster Jar, releasing the fragrances of Christ and His love to save you and me from sin. Jesus says in John 5:39, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”

Welcome to the Alabaster Jar Ministry, where we study both the Old and the New Testament about God’s unchanging love towards us from the beginning of time to the end when sin will be forever conquered, and we will live in peace forever. Amen!

Be patience and kind to one another
